Growing up in Hungary, but spending the last 8 Christmas holidays (partly) in Italy, Lilla has discovered a couple of Christmas traditions tour books don't really talk about. Let's see her top 3 favourites!

1. The Helmet
Do you know the famous Italian Christmas cakes? Usually there is a fight between panettone and pandoro, but this tradition is not about them, but their package! In many Italian families, children love grabbing scissors, and transforming the huge paper boxes into knight helmets as soon as the cakes are served.

2. Who brings the gifts?
No, in Hungary, not Santa Claus, and no, not even Befana or the Three Kings are the ones that place the presents under the Christmas tree. Children are told that Baby Jesus brings gifts. And if they are too heavy for the Child? Ok, angels may help him...

3. Ambo, Terno, aaand... Tombola!
Did you know that in Italy it is really common to play a game at Christmas where you can win but also, lose a lot! And not only your pride... Families and friends like to play tombola, a kind of bingo, and other popular card games throughout the whole winter holiday.
Do you know other interesting, popular traditions in Italy and Hungary? We would like to hear them! Write us your favourite traditions to linestudiographics@gmail.com, and we would be happy to share them on our Instagram!
